The View menu decides how SeroBooks lays out what you open: one screen at a time, or each screen in a window of its own. On a computer with more than one monitor it can also stretch SeroBooks across all of them so you can drag windows from one screen to the other.
Opening the View menu
- Click View on the menu bar, or rest the pointer on it.
- Or press Alt+V.
The items, in order
| Item | What it does | Read more |
|---|---|---|
| One Window | Each screen fills the work area, one at a time, as screens did before SeroBooks had windows. Ticked while it is on. | Windows: One Window, Multiple Windows |
| Multiple Windows | Every screen or form opens in a window of its own that keeps its place. Windows can be moved, resized, minimised to the strip and brought back, and arranged from the Window menu. Ticked while it is on. This is how SeroBooks starts. | Windows: One Window, Multiple Windows |
| Extend Across All Monitors | Resizes the SeroBooks application window to cover every monitor connected to the computer, as one area. Any window inside SeroBooks (a page, a customer ledger, a look-up) can then be dragged onto the other monitor. Ticked while it is on; choose it again to go back to one monitor. Shown only on a desktop computer (Windows, Mac or Linux). | Windows: One Window, Multiple Windows |
A grey line separates the two window modes from Extend Across All Monitors.
Your choice of One Window or Multiple Windows is remembered on this computer. It describes the screen you sit at, not the company's books, so other people signing in on other computers keep their own choice.
Things to know
- In One Window mode the Window menu's Close All, Tile Vertically, Tile Horizontally and Cascade are not shown, because there is only ever one screen in front. See Window menu.
- When the application window covers two monitors that are not lined up along their tops, part of the window falls on neither screen. That is expected for any window spanning uneven monitors.
