SeroBooks vs FreshBooks

FreshBooks is polished software for service businesses: invoicing, time tracking, expenses and client communication done well. If your product is hours, it is a strong choice and its interface is genuinely pleasant to work in.

SeroBooks overlaps on invoicing and gets paid the same way, but its centre is a business that holds inventory and sells it — often across a counter.

Inventory in SeroBooks is a full subsystem posting to the same ledger: catalogue with variants and custom attributes, live stock per location, serials, batches with expiry and recall tracing, warehouse bins, transfers with an in-transit state, adjustments with reasons, valuation at cost and retail, and barcode labels.

Every one of those movements is an accounting event, which is why the stock number and the balance-sheet number are the same number.

Stay with FreshBooks if you bill for time, need its time-tracking and client-portal workflow, and hold no stock. Those are the things it does best and SeroBooks does not attempt to replicate them.
