Three tools, three numbers, no profit you can trust.
A typical seller runs a connector to post settlements, a dashboard for advertising and profit, and accounting software underneath both. The connector knows the deposit; the dashboard knows the ads; neither knows your cost of goods, your freight, your payroll or your GST return. Each one is right about its own slice, and the profit you act on is whichever tab you opened last.
SeroBooks puts the whole thing in one ledger. The settlement, the ad spend, the landed cost of the stock and the tax Amazon remitted on your behalf are entries in the same books — which is the only place a profit figure can be both complete and audited.
Twelve lanes. One P&L.
Each lane is a screen in the SeroBooks app, reading the same ledger — so the Fees tab, the P&L and the tax return cannot disagree.
Settlements, posted
Every settlement pulled from Amazon and posted component by component — principal, tax, referral, FBA fulfilment, storage, reserves — to the account it belongs in. No CSV, no clearing-account guesswork.
Who files the tax
Per order and per settlement, marketplace-facilitator tax Amazon already remitted is split from the tax you file. Assigned only where it can be proved.
Order-day invoicing
Optionally invoice on the day the shopper paid rather than the day Amazon deposited — so today's trading is on today's P&L, with back-dating into filed quarters refused.
Advertising on the P&L
Sponsored Products, Brands and Display spend pulled daily from the Ads API, TACOS on every period, profit after advertising, and sales split into what the ads brought and what came anyway.
Fees, itemised and audited
Amazon's cut opens into the fees it is made of, with the unsettled remainder named as an estimate. A fee audit compares what was charged with what Amazon publishes for the item's size tier.
Returns & reimbursements
Returns, removals and reimbursements pulled daily. Refunds 45 days old with nothing back become claims, composed for you, with the unit's whole story attached.
Recovery
Units Amazon lost, damaged or disposed of and never paid for, plus inbound shipments closed short — oldest first, as candidates, with no invented dollar figures.
Storage
What storage actually cost from the settlements, unfulfillable units, stock not sold in 90 days, and the age ladder that drives long-term storage fees.
Buy Box
Who holds the featured offer on your listings and at what price — the reason a healthy-looking listing goes quiet, invisible from inside your own account.
Traffic
Sessions and conversion per product, so 'fewer people arrived' and 'the same people stopped buying' — opposite fixes — are no longer the same line on a chart.
Inbound shipments
What is on its way into Amazon, per-shipment SKU detail, and what arrived short — raised as a claim instead of a number you notice in March.
Forecast & replenishment
Stock-out dates and reorder quantities with two lead times — supplier to your warehouse, your warehouse to Amazon — and a ship-to-FBA schedule.
One subscription where there were four.
Product names are used descriptively. A2X, Webgility, Sellerboard and Amazon are trademarks of their respective owners; SeroBooks is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
- Marketplaces outside North America. No VAT, OSS or JCT handling yet, so Amazon Europe and Japan are not supported.
- Buy Box prices without Amazon's permission. Competitor offer prices need Amazon to grant the pricing role; until it does, the tab shows featured-offer share, and says so.
- Seller Central messaging. Amazon does not allow it through the API, so buyer messages stay in Seller Central.
- Invented recovery figures. Recovery lists candidates for a claim. It never states a dollar amount Amazon has not published.
Frequently asked questions
Which marketplaces are supported?
Amazon.ca, Amazon.com and Amazon.com.mx — the North American region. The underlying connection knows every Amazon region, but SeroBooks does not yet handle VAT, OSS or JCT, so we do not sell it for European or Asian marketplaces.
How is this different from A2X or Webgility?
Those tools post Amazon settlements into accounting software you also pay for. SeroBooks is the accounting software: the settlement posts to the same ledger as your invoices, stock and payroll, and the advertising, returns and storage figures sit on the same P&L instead of in another dashboard.
What does 'to the penny' mean here?
The settlement posting was reconciled account for account against a live Canadian seller's QuickBooks Desktop company file. Two categories will never match account-for-account because the two systems classify them differently; everything else matched to the cent.
Do I need the Ads API connected?
No. Without it, advertising cost is read from the expense account you record Amazon's ad invoices in. Connect it and spend arrives daily by campaign type, with same-day same-SKU attribution for the organic-versus-advertised split.
Are multi-channel fulfilment orders counted as Amazon sales?
No. An MCF order is your sale on another channel that Amazon happened to ship; it is not Amazon revenue and does not become an Amazon invoice.
What does it cost?
SeroBooks for Amazon is its own plan, for settlements reconciled and posted, with a 14-day free trial: a card starts it, nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then. The full books — and payroll, forecasting and the rest — are the Standard and Pro plans. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.
