Accounting Software for Electronics & Repair Shops
The customer says the phone was bought here in March. Was it? Serial numbers answer questions memory cannot — and repair shops sell labour and parts on the same ticket.
How SeroBooks answers it
The unit, not the model
Electronics retail lives on per-unit questions: did we sell THIS handset, when, to whom, and is it still under warranty? A product-level stock record can never answer them, which is why warranty disputes become filing-cabinet archaeology and 'did this come from you?' becomes a guess.
Serial and IMEI tracking makes the unit the record. Scanned in at goods receipt, scanned out at sale, looked up in one box afterwards.
One scan ends the argument
Serial / IMEI Lookup returns the invoice, the date, the customer and the warranty recorded on that line. A claim that used to take twenty minutes takes a scan. 'No sale found' is a real answer too — the unit is still in stock, or it was never booked in, and both are worth knowing when someone is standing at your counter with it.
Warranties, including extended cover the customer bought, are captured on the line at the moment of sale rather than on a card that gets lost.
Rules that keep the serial file honest
A serial that was never received cannot be sold. A returned serial becomes available again; one written off as damaged is retired permanently and can never be sold by mistake later. Receiving folds a delivery of twenty units into one line carrying twenty serials, so goods-in is checkable rather than tedious.
The lifecycle is enforced by the product, not documented in a manual nobody reads.
Repairs are services, and services carry margin
Labour, diagnostics and callouts sell as services on the same invoice as the parts — priced, taxed and margin-tracked, without any of the stock machinery that does not apply to them. A job sheet becomes one document with parts and labour side by side.
The whole invoice posts to the ledger in one save, so a repair shop's books are current at the counter.
