Inventory

Inventory the accountants and the stockroom both trust

Inventory in SeroBooks is not a quantity column — it is serial numbers, batches with expiry dates, bins in a warehouse, transfers on a truck, and adjustments with audited reasons. And because it lives in the same ledger as your money, the stock value on the balance sheet is the stock on the shelf.

A catalogue that opens instantly

The product file is held on the device, so a three-thousand-line catalogue opens in a blink and search works when the connection does not. Type and it matches name, SKU, brand and category at once; quantities read live from the server so the stock figure beside a product is this second's truth, not last night's.

Columns sort like they mean it — money as money, dates as dates — so $1,240 lands above $980 where it belongs, and filters only ever offer values that actually exist, so a filter can never lead you to an empty list.

Filters shaped like your stock

Brand, category, sub-category, variant, tax, in-stock — and four custom attributes you name yourself in settings. A clothing shop that fills in Fabric, Sleeve and Fit can find 'red cotton full-sleeve shirts' in four clicks; a parts counter can do the same with Make and Model. Several values inside one filter widen the net; several filters together narrow it.

The count beside the page title always says how much of the catalogue you are looking at, so a filtered view never masquerades as the whole file.

Product 360 — the whole item on one card

Press Enter on any product and Product 360 opens: price and margin, tax, stock at every location with this till's marked, price levels including every group price, tracked batches with dates, the last purchase with supplier and cost, and a 30-day sales sparkline. Velocity and days of cover turn the stock number into a decision: 47,000 days of cover is a joke the card is happy to tell you.

It opens from anywhere a product appears — the catalogue, stock levels, a document line — because stock questions never schedule themselves for the convenient screen.

Depth without a third subscription

Serials, batches, expiry dates, bins, transfers, adjustments with reasons, label printing — the inventory depth QuickBooks Online sends you to a connected app for is simply screens here, posting to the same ledger as everything else. No connector tax, no sync mismatch between your stock system and your books.

Products are created and bulk-imported in Admin; the counter-facing catalogue stays a lookup tool, fast and safe.

Frequently asked questions

How does this compare to QuickBooks Online?

QBO Plus tracks quantities. Serial numbers, batches, expiry dates, bins, transfers and label printing are not there — most QBO retailers buy a separate inventory app and a connector. In SeroBooks they are screens.

Can I do a stock count?

Count, then post the differences as adjustments with a reason — the audit trail keeps the before and after.
