Stock between stores, with nothing lost on the truck

A transfer happens in two halves — sent, then received — and between them the stock is in transit, belonging to neither end. That middle state is the design: it is what stops a van-load appearing in two places at once, or vanishing because the receiving branch has not booked it in. The register shows exactly what is on the road right now.

If stock seems missing at both ends, this list answers first: an unreceived transfer is the most common explanation, sitting in plain sight.

New Transfer is deliberately simple: from, to, scan the items, send. Stock leaves the sending location immediately. You can only send what the location actually holds — the screen checks — and entering the transfer as the goods are loaded is the habit that keeps counts true; transfers typed from memory afterwards are where discrepancies are born.

Choose in-transit or completed-now per transfer: the van gets the two-step, the shelf-to-shelf move inside one building gets the instant version.

Receive & update stock books the transfer in at the far end — done as the van is unloaded, not at the end of the week. Variances are resolved by disposition — reship, lost, accept, return — so a short box becomes a recorded fact with an owner, not a mystery in next month's count.

In-transit transfers can be cancelled, returning goods to the sender; once received, the road back is a new transfer, so both movements stay on the record.

Every transfer is a printable document with its from and to addresses, lines, and units moved — sent by print, PDF, email or WhatsApp to travel with the goods. Cost value rides along, seeded from the last price paid, so the movement is valued as well as counted.
