Menus, forms and windows that feel familiar

Most of the time spent switching accounting software goes into finding things. SeroBooks keeps them where QuickBooks Desktop users expect: a menu bar across the top, a Home Page that shows the flow of work, and forms that open in their own windows.

Where things are

Lists holds the chart of accounts, items, Terms, Customer:Job, classes, Price Levels, custom fields and the other lists. Company holds Company Information, Preferences, the Home Page, Company Snapshot, the Calendar, the To Do List, budgets, the closing date and back-ups. Customers and Vendors hold their centres and the forms for each side of the business. Banking holds cheques, deposits, transfers, reconciliation and the Loan Manager. Reports holds more than 160 reports in 14 groups.

Each form opens in its own window, and a module button brings its open window forward, so an invoice, a bill and a report can be open side by side.

Small things that save time

Dates can be typed straight into the box. Save & New starts a fresh form. Insert Line and Delete Line work on invoice, bill, journal and expense grids. Any invoice, bill, journal entry or account can be duplicated. Advanced Find searches across your transactions, and every transaction has a history and a journal view.

If you close a form with unsaved changes, SeroBooks asks first.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose which commands are in the Favorites menu?

Yes. Customize Favorites lets you pick any menu command and put them in your own order. The list is kept on your computer.

Can I use two monitors?

Yes. View > Extend Across All Monitors lets you drag any window to a second screen.

What does Escape do?

Escape goes one step back — it closes a pop-up, clears a search, or steps back through a form — and it never throws away typed work without asking.
