Delivery, installation, repair labour, design time — services sell like products but keep no stock, so they never run out and never need counting. SeroBooks gives them their own register: name, code, price, tax treatment and cost, without any of the stock machinery that does not apply.
On documents they behave exactly like any line — priced, taxed, discounted — so an invoice can carry the espresso machine and its installation side by side.
Margin still counts
A service carries a cost as well as a price, so labour margin shows in reporting like product margin does. The install you sell at $180 with $60 of cost is a 66% line, visible wherever margins are.
Tax treatment is per service — taxable, zero-rated, exempt — following the same provincial engine as goods, because provinces tax services with their own opinions.
Excluded where stock logic would lie
Services never appear in stock health, reorder lists or valuation — the screens exclude them by design, so an 'out of stock' alert can never fire on a thing that has no stock. That is a small correctness that keeps every inventory report honest.
