Accounting Software for Amazon Sellers

Amazon pays a net number that hides a dozen fee types, and most sellers' 'accounting' is hoping the deposit is roughly right. Margin truth requires settlement truth.

Marketplace money has two halves

Amazon money is orders — what sold, to which province, with what tax — and settlements — what Amazon actually deposited, and what it charged to get there: commission, fulfilment, storage, advertising, and the tax on those fees. Books carrying only the first half show a profit you did not make and a clearing account that only ever grows.

SeroBooks posts both, for the same periods. Orders become invoices; each settlement becomes a journal with every fee itemised.

The clearing account tells the truth

A marketplace buyer paid the marketplace on day one, so that money belongs in a clearing account, not in receivables. Sales push money in; settlements take it out. A clearing balance that rises and falls is a complete set of books; one that only rises means the deposits were never recorded.

That single check catches the most common marketplace bookkeeping failure in about ten seconds.

Place-of-supply tax on every order

The destination province sets the rate, so orders are enriched with their ship-to province before posting — an order with no province cannot be taxed correctly, and the flow enforces the order of operations. Marketplace-collected tax is recorded on both sides so the figures net correctly and the return can be explained; genuinely exempt buyers post as zero-rated rather than as errors.

File from the by-province, by-tax breakdown — the shape a return asks for — instead of a marketplace report.

Without the connector subscription

This is the work A2X and Webgility charge for monthly, built into the product and reconciled account-for-account against a real production seller's QuickBooks. Unmapped fees land visibly in a holding account rather than being guessed into an expense — and a new balance there later is the earliest warning that Amazon started charging something new.

Reconcile every payout against its bank deposit and year-end is an afternoon instead of a forensic week.
