The statements, straight from the ledger
P&L standard, detail, year-to-date, previous-year comparison, monthly, and by location. Balance Sheet. Trial Balance. Cash Flow. All read the same ledger at the moment you ask, and every number opens to the entries beneath it.
What you get
Statements that check themselves
Trial balance, P&L, balance sheet and cash flow are read straight from the ledger — and each one states its own integrity out loud. The trial balance banner says debits equal credits, and at what figure. The balance sheet says assets equal liabilities plus equity. The cash-flow statement proves its three sections tie to the cash accounts exactly. Green banners, or a named problem.
Figures on these screens change nothing — what posts into them is decided in Setup, and the pages say so.
P&L that reads honestly
Income less cost of goods gives gross profit; less expenses, the result — for whatever range you pick, with every line drillable to its entries. If gross profit looks too good, the usual cause is cost of goods not posting: check purchases are being recorded, not just sales — the guidance is on the page because the mistake is universal.
Tax you collect is never an expense here: it sits on the balance sheet as a liability, held for the government, where it belongs.
A snapshot and a period, kept distinct
The balance sheet answers 'where does the business stand today' — a date, not a range. Receivables, clearing balances and tax payable each have a story to check: clearing should cycle up and down, tax payable should match the return for the same period. The P&L answers 'what happened between two dates'. Keeping the two questions separate is half of reading financials well.
Both are exportable and emailable, and both drill line-by-line to the ledger.
Comparatives built in
The Report Centre carries the variants accountants actually ask for: P&L year-to-date, previous-year comparison, by month, by location; balance sheet standard, detail, summary and prev-year. Fifteen company-and-financial reports, one click each, same ledger underneath.
One set of books, many honest views of it.
Frequently asked questions
Are the statements real-time?
They are computed from the ledger when you open them — there is no 'refresh the report' step, and no version of the truth other than the books.
