The Issues screen answers one question: did the Amazon sync and the settlement work? When SeroBooks could not fetch, import or post something, an issue is raised here with the reason, advice on what to do, and, where the fix is simple, a button that fixes it and re-runs the work straight away.
A second list, What Amazon reported, holds observations Amazon's data makes about your business, such as stock that never arrived or a SKU with no item behind it. Those are not faults; each also appears on the screen it belongs to.
How to open it
- Amazon ▸ Issues.
- The open issues count on the Overview connection strip tells you when there is something here.
- If Daily issue digest is on under Settings, you also get one email a day while open issues need attention.

Two rows of chips.
Status:
| Chip | Shows |
|---|---|
| open | Issues still needing attention. The default. |
| resolved | Issues fixed, by you or by SeroBooks when the problem cleared. |
| ignored | Issues you chose to ignore. |
| all | Everything. |
Kind:
| Chip | Shows |
|---|---|
| Sync & settlement | Whether SeroBooks could talk to Amazon and import and post your settlements. The default. |
| What Amazon reported | Findings about your stock and orders. A note explains that these are not faults and that each one also appears on Inbound, Storage, Recovery, Products, Fees or Orders. |
Each kind chip shows its count in brackets when there are open items.
When nothing is open you see Nothing open. Every sync ran and every settlement imported. (or, for findings, Nothing open. Amazon has reported nothing about your stock or orders.)
Reading an issue
| Part | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Coloured dot and area | Red for critical, orange for a warning, blue for information. The area names what it is about, for example sync, money, tax, product or inventory. |
| Reason | What happened, in a sentence or two. |
| Advice box | Shown on open issues: a coloured label (DO THIS NOW, WHEN YOU HAVE A MOMENT or NO ACTION NEEDED), a one-line next step, and the steps to take it. |
| Status and note | On resolved or ignored issues: the status, and after → what was done. |
Fixing an issue
Open issues carry the buttons that apply to them:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Retry now | Runs the failed work again: re-posts a refused settlement or re-imports a failed settlement file. On success the issue closes; otherwise it stays open with the new reason. |
| Assign account role | For a charge SeroBooks has no rule for. Opens Post this fee to… (see below). |
| Map product | For a SKU with no SeroBooks item. Opens Map to SeroBooks product (see below). |
| Mark resolved | You fixed it yourself (for example, reconnected Amazon or moved the closing date); records that it is done. |
| Ignore | Closes it without a fix. It moves to ignored. |
After any of these you see Done., or the reason it did not work.
Many issues close by themselves: when a settlement posts successfully, its refusal issue is resolved; when a fee is given a rule, the warnings about that fee are retired.
Post this fee to…
A drop-down of posting roles, shown by their names: amazon_commission, fba_fees, fba_storage, advertising_expense, amazon_service_fees, promotions_given, amazon_reserve, sales_revenue, sales_returns, shipping_income, tax_payable, inventory_shrinkage and amazon_unmapped. What each one means, and the account behind it, is listed under Posting roles.
Choose the role and Assign & re-post. SeroBooks saves the rule for that charge, then re-posts every posted settlement that carried it, so the money moves out of the Amazon unmapped holding account into the right account in past months too. Settlements not yet posted use the rule when they post.
Map to SeroBooks product
Enter the Product id and, for an item with variations, the Variation id (optional), then Map. Enter a product id. appears if you leave it empty. The SKU is then matched for every future order. You can do the same, and use Auto-map, on Products.
Common issues and what they mean
| Issue | What to do |
|---|---|
| A settlement refused to post | Read the reason, fix it (see Why a settlement is refused) and choose Retry now. |
| Amazon used a fee description this business has no mapping for | Choose Assign account role. |
| A SKU with no product behind it | Choose Map product, or map it on Products. |
| Amazon refused a permission, or the connection stopped working | Choose Reconnect Amazon under Settings, then Mark resolved. |
| A settlement is overdue | Choose Pull under Settings. If Amazon has not issued one, there is nothing to import yet. |
Permissions
Retry now, Mark resolved and Ignore need the Resolve an Issue action; Assign account role needs Map a Fee; Map product needs Map a Listing. If your role lacks one, an Approval Required window asks for someone whose role has it to approve before anything changes.
