What is audit trail?
The chronological record of who changed what in the books, and when. A real audit trail cannot be quietly edited, which is what makes it evidence: for the CRA, for auditors, and for the internal question nobody wants to ask out loud.
Example
An invoice for $1,563.20 is corrected on August 21. The original journal lines do not disappear — they move to the audit trail marked 'replaced', stamped with the time and the user, while the corrected lines post to the ledger.
Six months later, the question 'why does this invoice differ from the printed copy the customer holds?' has a dated answer instead of a shrug.
SeroBooks keeps a ledger-level audit trail, with approvals recorded beside the actions they unlocked. Audit trail →
