Who changed what, forever

Every consequential change leaves a name and a timestamp. When a number looks wrong, the audit trail turns 'who touched this?' from an office argument into a lookup.

What the books used to say

The audit trail is the record of journal lines that WERE in the books and no longer are — each with its entry date, account, amounts, the document it belonged to, why it went, when, and by whom. 'Replaced' rows accumulate as corrections happen; nothing is ever silently overwritten.

Tap a row and the document it belonged to opens — the trail is navigable, not archival.

Corrections leave fingerprints

Edit an invoice and its old journals move here as the new ones post. The ledger stays clean to read; the history stays complete to audit. Who changed what, when, and what the numbers were before — the three questions every audit asks, answered by design.

163 superseded rows in a trading month is a business correcting itself in the open, which is exactly what an auditor wants to see.

Trust is the product

Permission gates decide who can edit; the trail records that they did. Together with period locks and the self-checking statements, the result is books a lender, buyer or CRA reviewer can walk through without a leap of faith anywhere.

Every number defensible, every change explained — that is the whole promise, kept mechanically.

Frequently asked questions

Does the audit trail cover staff actions at the till?

Documents, returns, adjustments and permission approvals all leave their trace — the trail follows the money wherever it moved.
