A pending invoice is an invoice that is written but not posted. No stock leaves, the customer owes nothing and the books do not show it — until you mark it final. Use it when an invoice is ready except for something you are waiting on: a manager's approval, the final quantities from a job, confirmation of a price.
Marking an invoice pending
On Create Invoices, write the invoice and click Pending instead of saving it. SeroBooks confirms Pending invoice (number) saved — nothing is posted until it is marked final from Customers › Pending Invoices. See The invoice buttons.
The Pending Invoices list
Customers ▸ Pending Invoices opens over the Home Page (Esc takes you back to the Home Page; it needs permission for the Invoices list) and lists every pending invoice:

A note above the list reminds you: Invoices marked pending post nothing — no stock out, no amount owed — until they are marked final. Mark an invoice pending with the Pending button on Create Invoices. With none, it says No pending invoices. Refresh reloads it.
Finishing a pending invoice (Mark as Final)
- Click Mark as Final.
- The invoice opens in Create Invoices: Pending invoice loaded — save it to make it final. The pending copy is removed once it is.
- Check it, choose On Account or a payment method, and save as usual.
It is then an ordinary invoice: it posts to the books (see Create Invoices), takes the stock out and appears in the Invoices list. The pending copy is removed. If it could not be removed, SeroBooks says so — delete it here.
Changing a pending invoice (Edit)
Click Edit. The invoice opens in Create Invoices — Editing the pending invoice — press Keep Pending to save your changes. Make your changes and click Keep Pending; it stays pending.
Deleting a pending invoice
Click Delete and confirm Delete pending invoice (number)? — Nothing was posted for it, so nothing else changes. SeroBooks confirms Pending invoice deleted.
Common problems
