SeroBooks for Bookkeeping & Accounting Firms

Client bookkeeping fails at the boundaries: who changed what, whether filed periods stayed filed, and how much of year-end is reconstruction instead of review.

Client books that arrive already verified

The usual engagement starts with reconstruction: chasing a POS export, an inventory guess, and a shoebox. SeroBooks clients arrive with a ledger that has been posting itself all year — every sale, purchase, payment and settlement writing its own balanced journal at the moment it happened.

The statements check themselves out loud: trial balance balanced and at what figure, balance sheet balanced, cash flow tied to the cash accounts, every journal balanced individually. You start from verified, not from trust.

Everything drills to its document

Any figure on any statement opens to the entries behind it, and any entry opens to the sale, bill, payment or settlement that wrote it. Sampling is clicks rather than a list of PDFs requested by email.

The audit trail keeps superseded journal lines with who replaced them and when, so corrections are visible instead of invisible.

Locks that protect your sign-off

Closing a period locks it at the ledger — not a warning dialog. No backdated invoice, edit or recurring template can disturb a signed month from any till. Corrections happen in the open period with the trail intact.

The Year-End screen runs the four integrity checks before hand-over, so a client sending you a period has already passed them.

Canadian specifics, in the product

GIFI mapping for the T2 lives on the chart of accounts with CRA-code suggestions to accept or correct, and only assigned codes ever export. CCA schedules apply the half-year rule by class. Sales tax runs a place-of-supply matrix for all thirteen provinces with PST resale exemptions on purchases where provinces allow them.

For practices standardized on QuickBooks Desktop, the bridge sends invoices, credit notes, payments and settlement journals into the company file — reconciled to the penny in production — so a client can move without you changing tools.
