What is reorder point?

The stock level that should trigger replenishment: expected demand over the supplier's lead time, plus safety stock for the bad weeks. Set too low you stock out; too high you park cash on shelves.

Example

A line sells 12 units a week and takes 3 weeks to arrive. A reorder point of 36 units triggers the order just as the last unit would otherwise sell out — add safety stock for the weeks demand runs hot.

Set it on the product and the low-stock filter maintains your buying list for you.
